Daily Life Tip #15

Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness means being fully present and engaged with each moment. It’s being aware of your thoughts and feelings without distraction or judgment.

Head to your calendar and schedule a 10-minute mindfulness practice each day. In this practice, try following a guided meditation, or deep breathing exercises.

  • Meditation has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety.
  • By detaching from your thoughts, you learn how to better manage negative beliefs.
  • Go on, be more zen! Calm your mind for clear thinking.

Daily Life Tip #16

Set Realistic Goals

Think about how much time you have to work toward your goals. Then, consider what you want to achieve each day, each week, and each year. Write your goals down, and plan your day, week, and year around them.

  • Happiness often comes from progress toward your goals.
  • By completing your daily goals, you’ll enjoy your end of the day knowing you got something valuable done.

Daily Life Tip #17

Engage in Hobbies and Activities You Enjoy

We all need distractions from our busy and worrisome minds. So take time every week to engage in something you enjoy. This could be a weekly painting session, a book club meeting, or a jog in the park.

  • Life hack: Schedule a time in your week for these hobbies and activities.
  • Having a hobby outside your professional life will help you maintain a healthy work-life-balance.
  • Just do something. It will enhance creativity, reduce stress, and boost your mental health.
  • Plus you’ll meet new people, helping you make friends.

Daily Life Tip #18

Exercise Regularly

You have to exercise. You know it. Choose to exercise at least three days a week for 30 minutes.

  • Exercise strengthens your heart, improves circulation, and helps you with weight management.
  • Also, exercise releases endorphins, lifting your mood and relieving depression and anxiety.
  • Pretty good, huh? Go on…just do it!

Daily Life Tip #19

Limit Your Alcohol Consumption

You have to limit your alcohol consumption; it’s too important for your health. Try to restrict your drinking to 7 drinks per week for women and 14 for men. Space out your alcohol consumption throughout the week, setting alcohol-free days.

  • Life Hack: Delay your first drink in most situations. Or just say no.
  • This tip will improve physical health: Your liver and heart will both be a lot happier for it.
  • Plus, improve your brain function, and sleep quality, and reduce mental fog.

Daily Life Tip #20

Avoid Smoking and Substance Abuse

Foster a strong support system that encourages healthy choices. Instead, engage in wholesome stress management activities such as exercise. If you have to, try nicotine replacement therapy or prescription medications.

  • Smoking and substance abuse will shorten your life, so stop.
  • Boost your lung function and overall respiratory well-being.
  • Prioritize your health – it’s the most valuable thing you have!

Daily Life Tip #21

Spend Time in Nature

Spend more time in the outdoors. Go for a walk, a hike, a picnic, or just sit in a nearby park. Use this time to unplug from technology.

  • Life hack: Stop what you’re doing at least once per day and go outside.
  • Nature is therapeutic. It heals the mind and body.
  • You’ll feel better, more relaxed, and happier.
